Coming Soon

I promise, I will post on Cambodia. In the meantime, check out this link for some pictures. Or you can visit Jenny's blog and see what she has to say about it. I fully intend to post about Cambodia (with pictures, if possible) before I leave for Costa Rica and Nicaragua.

I'll tell you this much, I had a BLAST!!!

First off, Tim, let me tell you that you ROCK!
Yes. I am 23. Currently, I am neither a student, nor am I employed. Let's just say I am spending some time travelling and exploring my options. I intend to get more serious about that, when I get back from Costa Rica and Nicaragua next month. No. I am not married, although due to a language barrier, I am afraid I may be engaged to a 19-year old Cambodian boy (he looked 13 or 14) who offered me watermelon. We weren't sure of their customs, so I politely refused. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure there will never be a wedding between us. And no, I don't have any kids, but I do have 4 nieces, a nephew, a nephew on the way, and a niece or nephew on the way (both my sisters are pregnant). Tell me about you. Same questions...

So, Tim, did you go to school to learn to build/test these flight simulators? Is this for airlines or military or just fun? My brother and my dad are both pilots. My mom too, but her license hasn't been current in years. And my brother is the only one who flies regularly and the only one licensed for large airplanes. We used to fly everywhere when we were kids. Both my parents are from Kansas and in the summers, we would load up the Cessna 150 with all our luggage...the 6 of us (tight fit) and set out to visit family. I even have a log book, with about 7 hours logged. Sometimes I think about actually learning how to fly, but it is an expensive hobby.

No, I'm not sure yet what I will do after I return from Costa Rica/Nicaragua. No "real" jobs jump out at me right now. I, do, however feel more and more called to missions in some form. I was really inspired by Anna (our contact in Cambodia) who is the same age as me and doing God's work in a foreign country. I see that I don't have to wait until I get a degree or get married, or until I retire. I can serve right now. Now the question is where? And who do I talk to?

Yes, the picture is me--it's from a youth group snow trip a year and a half ago. I am modeling a handmade duct tape purse and trying to advertise for Coca-Cola (although they printed the can upside down...).
