I was thinking today of things that make me feel grown up and things that make me feel like a kid. I thought I might list some of them for you. Tell me yours.
This makes me feel like a kid:
- I still live at home with my parents.
- I don't know what I want to do when I grow up.
- Driving my parents car.
- Crying over stupid things that shouldn't matter.
- Getting REALLY sick (and having someone take care of me).
This makes me feel grown-up:
- Having a "real job."
- Driving really far to visit friends.
- Travelling with friends (sans parents). --specifically international travel...
- Carrying a purse regularly.
- Being an aunt (to 5 w/ 2 more on the way).
- Seeing my friends get married (and have kids).
- Realizing the kids I used to babysit are graduating high school, etc.
- Seeing 18-21 year olds and thinking "they are so young!"
- Paying for lunch (dinner, etc) with a credit card. (added 10-17)
I know there are a lot more, but those are the things that I thought of right away.

I can't wait until I grow up. But I haven't decided if I want to be a astronaut, a princess, or a cowboy. Maybe I'll be a SPACE COWBOY! (woo hoo!)
Crissi~ You are underestimating yourself. You can be a SPACE COWBOY PRINCESS! Good luck with that. When you find a college that offers that major, let me know. Love you.
Okay Liz, you said that you needed to be bugged. So consider this your first bug. WRITE DOWN YOUR STORIES!!!! POST YOUR PICTURES!!!! Feel free to use mine like I used yours. Oh wait, I haven't given you mine yet. Hmmm. That sounds like something I should get on top of. Hey, keep bugging me about that. I need to buy some CD's tomorrow.
Anyway about the post at hand. I feel like a kid when I'm around people that are married and/or have kids. I feel grown up because I have a house and a degree and a car and it all happened so fast! I feel like a kid when I'm with girl friends and laughing so hard my stomach hurts. I feel like an adult when I clean my house and cook. I feel like a kid when I daydream. I feel like an adult when I say my age out loud. I feel like an adult when YOU say you feel like an adult. I feel like a kid when others older than me say I'm so young. That's a crock.
